Marc,

Thanks for referencing my "dogfood" article in your post. A couple of quick thoughts:
1) I completely agree with you. Social media is hard (contrary to what a lot of people in the space will tell you). It's actually pretty easy to get started but the sustainability part is tricky. Not a lot of companies are doing this well.
2) I will challenge you on the "not enough time," comment though. None of us have enough time but at the end of the day, we have to ask what's important to us. I've streamlined my day so that I read almost NO news but I do listen to NPR for 40 minutes in the AM. I don't read my Google Reader anymore although @GeorgeDearing has convinced me to add the iPhone app to my iPhone. I spend somewhere between 3-8 hours in meetings everyday but still I MAKE time to watch Twitter, update Facebook, blog and comment on other peoples' blogs.

Bottom line, it's always easy to make excuses. It's harder to overcome those excuses and make time for those things that matter to us (social media or not). I say this knowing that you aren't giving yourself enough credit.

Either way, thanks for making me think.

Best,
Aaron
